Metso

Metso is a global supplier of technology and related services, whose customers work in mining and excavation industry, power generation, oil and gas industry, recycling and pulp and paper industry. Metso Corporation and Nurminen Logistics have an operative agreement for special domestic transports. Behind the agreement is a long history of cooperation with Metso’s various business units. In addition to the day-to-day deliveries included in the agreement, such as delivering heavy rolls or machine parts from Metso’s units to harbours, Nurminen Logistics has also handled special transport projects for Metso to both Europe and Russia. Many different parts of Nurminen’s equipment are used in the transports, from heavy trailers to heated delivery containers which are needed for transporting such items as coated rolls for paper machines.

According to the client

Our cooperation with Nurminen has developed over the years from one-time transports to annual agreements. The long-spanning cooperation has led to fluidity in many respects. It means that the people in charge of arranging Nurminen’s transports are familiar with our projects and know how to choose the right transport equipment for them. Our products are expensive, and any damages would mean lengthy delays in our own supply chain. This means it is fundamentally important that our partners in logistics cooperation have up-to-date knowhow and a versatile fleet at their disposal.

According to Nurminen

Our cooperation with Metso Paper often begins as early as the item design stage, with the optimisation of package sizes and planning the schedule, for instance. It is important to begin planning well ahead of time, as the Metso Paper’s packages vary significantly in size and the scheduling of their transports is often very tight. Good planning guarantees cost-effective, safe and undoubtedly feasible transport solutions.
