John Nurminen sells Fashion Logistics business operations to Post

John Nurminen Oy sells Fashion Logistics business operations to Finland Post. The business operations will transfer to Post´s Logistics business unit on 30 April 2005, and Fashionet Logistics´ personnel will be employed by the Post on the same employment terms as before.

The transaction will help John Nurminen to concentrate on its core business areas in logistics. The company will carry out its growth strategy by acquistions and by expanding its service concepts or creating new ones.

The acquisition will expand the Post´s Logistics services into a new area; delivering clothes on racks with vehicles specially equipped for such shipments. Additionally, it will support Post Logistics´ strategy of focusing expansion on the Baltic Countries and Russia, which are becoming more significant areas in fashion logistics.

The Fashion Logistics Unit forms part of the European Fashionet network and had a turnover of EUR 9.3 million in 2004. The Unit has a staff of 44 in Finland and 4 in Estonia. Fashion Logistics operates in Lahti in facilities of 13,800 m2 and in Tallinn in a 3,500 m2 logistics centre located in the same building as the Post affiliate, Logia Estonia Oü, which provides warehousing services.
