John Nurminens Cargo Handling and Value-Added Services Unit has signed its first important, long-term contract for a factory logistics product. Starting on 1 January 2006, John Nurminen will be responsible for the smooth running of Vaasan & Vaasan Oy´s crisp bread warehouse in Kotka.
Vaasan & Vaasan Oy, the world’s number two manufacturer of crisp bread, is outsourcing to John Nurminen the warehouse operations of its crisp bread factory in Kotka. John Nurminen manages the company’s crisp bread logistics, too. With this move, Vaasan & Vaasan seeks more efficient warehousing operations that can be expanded flexibly. The company will be able to use John Nurminen´s warehouse management system.
Vaasan & Vaasan’s Kotka factory produces crisp bread, thin crisps, toast bread and pastries, among other bakery products. The value of the factory’s production is about EUR 70 million. Around 70 per cent of the crisp bread factory’s production is exported.
John Nurminen’s Cargo Handling and Value-Added Services Unit offers services to forwarding companies, wholesale traders and import and export companies. Our product family includes Transit, Terminal, Timber and Bulk, Factory Logistics and Chemical Logistics services. The unit’s offices are located in Vantaa, Loviisa, Mussalo (Kotka), Hamina and, through a partner, also in Turku.
