John Nurminen Oys organisation will undergo a change on 1 September 2006 with the merger of the Railway Logistics and Timber Division business units. The new unit will be called Rail Services.
The demand for rail services has increased dramatically over recent years, and John Nurminen have invested heavily in this sector. The new organisational arrangement will enable us to provide our customers with more comprehensive and cost-effective services in Russia and the CIS countries.
The director of the Rail Services Unit will be Harri Vainikka. Jorma Kervinen will be in charge of timber customers, wagon operation and Russian operations. Risto Miettinen will head timber terminals, and Olli Väätäinen will be responsible for sales.
Rail Services will employ about 200 people, 60 or so of them in Russia. The unit’s turnover for 2005 amounted to approximately €40 million. The organisational change will not affect the current staff.
