Nurminen Logistics’s Nurminen Cargo unit offers comprehensive and tailored logistics services. Its product range includes railway transports as well as forwarding and terminal services. The unit also provides customers with project-related export services.
Nurminen Cargo has at its disposal nearly 1000 of its own railway wagons and a total of 130,000 square metres of terminal network. The modern wagons have been designed to meet the customer’s transport needs, from paper and machines to round timber. The unit’s terminals can handle all kinds of freight, from chemicals to timber. In fact, Nurminen Cargo can realise the whole value chain with its own equipment and premises.
The unit operates in Finland, the Baltic Sea region, Russia and other CIS countries.
In late 2008, Finland’s largest and most modern harbour opened in Vuosaari, Helsinki. At the same time Nurminen Logistics opened a full-service logistics centre for its customers in Vuosaari. The new centre covers about 11 hectares and is located in the immediate vicinity of the port. Some 50,000 square metres of efficient logistics space will be built in the area in three stages. The modular space can be tailored to meet each customer’s complete logistics needs. For the client, this excellent location in the heart of material flows means cost savings: no container transports on ring roads and to inland terminals but instead efficient terminal operations and distribution already at the harbour.
