John Nurminen Oy and Bukowski-Hörhammer will host a weekend of Russian art. During the weekend, the public will have an opportunity to get an expert assessment on the condition and cash value of their artworks and to attend lectures on art, jewellery and conservation of artworks. On the spot will be experts from the State Museums of the Moscow Kremlin and the Repin Institute in St Petersburg. The weekend of Russian art will be held in Helsinki, 5 - 6 March 2005.
Several experts are ready to give their assessments of the artworks during
the weekend. Tatiana N. Muntian, curator of the State Museums of the
Moscow Kremlin, spezialices in Fabergé, while Elena Kirillina, scientific
director of the Repin Institute in St Petersburg, gives her assessments on
the Repin´s paintings. Experts of Bukowski-Hörhammer will evaluate Finnish
and Russian art, jewellery, design and furniture. John Nurminen´s art
conservators Hannele Heporauta and Jan Förster will examine the paintings
and they will give their verdicts on the artworks´ condition and required
conservation measures.
Besides the assessments of the artworks the public will also have an
opportunity to attend lectures on art. John Nurminen´s art conservators will
give a lecture on treatment and conservation of artworks. The public will
hear useful advice on how to treat and display the artworks at home. The
lecture given by Heporauta and Förster will cover issues like ideal
temperature and lightning required for the artworks, the idea of
conservation and the reasons why conservation of artworks must be done
by professionals only.
