On 20 August 2005 an exhibition was opened in Kunsthalle Helsinki presenting the works of the visual artist Marlene Dumas, one of the leading names in modern art. The exhibition is one of the cultural offerings of the Helsinki Festival. John Nurminen Oy was responsible for transporting the works of art to Finland.
Some of the works in the Marlene Dumas exhibition held in Kunsthalle
Helsinki were brought to Helsinki from the Garnatz Collection in the
Städtische Galerie Karlsruhe in Germany, but the exhibition also includes
works by the artist which are held in other European collections. John
Nurminen Oy was responsible for organising the transportation of all the
works of art.
Not only was John Nurminen Oy responsible for the transportation, the
company also participated in the installation and inspection of the exhibits.
The company´s own fine art handler supervised the hanging of the works in
the exhibition site in Helsinki, while the company´s conservator, in
cooperation with a conservator representing the borrowing party, inspected
the works of art.
The works on display in the Kunsthalle Helsinki exhibition represent
Marlene Dumas´ (b. 1953) artistic output spanning the period from the
1970s to the present day. The subject matter includes various
representations of the human form, with watercolour as a major medium.
The Marlene Dumas exhibition can be seen in Kunsthalle Helsinki until 2
October 2005. The exhibition has been put together by the Helsinki
Festival and Kunsthalle Helsinki in cooperation with the Staatliche
Kunsthalle Baden-Baden.
