Nurminen Logistics 140 years – take a look at our anniversary celebrations

Nurminen Logistics’ 140-year journey was celebrated in mid-March with two events held at the historic event venue, Kellotorni, in Helsinki. The iconic setting of the railway station provided a fitting backdrop to honour the company’s long history and to raise a toast to exciting visions for the future.

A shared ambition to grow and evolve highlighted at the stakeholder event

The anniversary celebrations began with a stakeholder event that brought together customers, owners and partners from Finland and around the world under one roof. The event was an opportunity to express our gratitude for the long-standing relationships and collaboration that have been central to Nurminen’s development over the years. The evening unfolded through stories, history, and a shared vision for the future. 

The event featured a range of engaging speeches, including one delivered by Juha Nurminen, a fourth-generation member of the John Nurminen family and former CEO, who took the audience on a journey through fascinating historical turning points. The evening was topped off by an energetic performance by singer-songwriter Nelli Matula.

As part of the programme, the documentary created for Nurminen Logistics’ 140th anniversary had its premiere. It took the audience on a journey from the past to the present, while highlighting how a strong heritage helps guide the years ahead.

Our anniversary documentary makes visible the fact that behind efficient logistics there are always skilled people and their determination to do things more intelligently, more boldly and with a strong commitment to serving both the customer and the company,” says Tiina Ylikahri, Head of Communications and Sustainability at Nurminen Logistics.

At the employee event, colleagues connected across borders and roles 

The stakeholder event was followed by a festive evening for Nurminen’s personnel. Colleagues from Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, Italy and China gathered to celebrate together. The evening provided a warm and welcoming setting for people to connect across teams and countries, share successes, meet colleagues who had travelled from afar and enjoy the festivities together to the music of Finnish singer-songwriter VIIVI. 

The celebration highlighted the diverse expertise and broad market insight represented by Nurminen’s employees.
